Paris in June: Things to Do and See with Kids

Paris in June is bright, warm and packed with family fun. Now is the perfect time to get outside – parks and playgrounds are in full swing but there are also plenty of events and activities happening across the city worth checking out. Here are my top picks for things to do with kids in Paris this month.

1. Play Mini Golf at the Parc Floral de Paris

mini golf parc floral-paris in june-the knowledge nuggets

Just inside the Parc Floral de Paris in the 12th arrondissement, this 18-hole outdoor mini-golf course lets kids “tour” the capital without leaving the green. Each hole is built around a white-cement model of a Paris landmark such as the Eiffel Tower, the Panthéon or the Sacré-Cœur, and the green turf with low white edging stays neat while adding just enough bounce for a surprise hole-in-one. Clubs in both child and adult sizes, balls, scorecards and pencils are supplied, and shaded tables and a snack stand provide handy spots for mid-round breaks.

After your game, linger in this family-friendly park to enjoy the excellent playgrounds, the butterfly house, cafés and picnic lawns, or simply wander the paths and take in the scenery. When the weather is fine, it’s easy to spend the whole day at Parc Floral.

Address: Parc Floral, Rte de la Pyramide, 75012, Paris

Opening hours: From 11am to 7.30pm on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, and every day during French school holidays.

Tickets: €12 adults, €8 children (under 12 years old). Buy tickets here.

2. Step into “Lost Worlds” VR Experience at Bercy Village

mondes disparus-paris with kids

Step into Mondes Disparus (“Lost Worlds”), a 45-minute virtual reality trip that jumps through billions of years of Earth’s history. With your headset on, you follow researcher Charlie and her robot Darwin through ancient oceans, dense Carboniferous forests and the age of the dinosaurs—complete with giant millipedes and grazing sauropods that feel close enough to touch. Realistic sights, sounds and gentle narration explain evolution, extinction and why today’s wildlife is so fragile.

Scientists from the Natural History Museum built the detailed scenes, and the journey finishes in our own time, where Charlie and Darwin are surprised to see giraffes still alive. Staff provide headsets with hygiene liners, help you adjust the gear and can switch you to a stationary view if moving images make you uneasy. The experience is recommended for ages 11 and up and is not allowed for children under 8. You can choose to have the VR experience in English or French. It lasts 1 hour and includes 45 minutes of free-roaming virtual reality.

Address: 45 rue des Pirogues, 75012, Paris

Tickets: €32 adult, €25 for those under the age of 18. Buy your tickets here.

3. Experience the immersive show “Jules Verne” at  Le Grand Hôtel des Rêves

jules verne show-paris with kids in june

Until 14 July 2025, Le Grand Hôtel des Rêves in the 5th arrondissement hosts Jules Verne – Le Voyage Extraordinaire, an immersive show that lasts about an hour. You follow the actors from room to room, set to set, as Jules Verne himself leads you through his best-known stories. One minute you stand beside Phileas Fogg on his world tour; the next you step onto Captain Nemo’s Nautilus or float with Dr Fergusson above Africa.

Twenty-four performers fill eight richly decorated scenes, and you stand close enough to feel part of the action. Props move, sound swells and lights change to pull you into oceans, skies and polar ice. After the final scene, a cosy café lets families relax with drinks and snacks before heading back out.

Address: 47 rue du Cardinal Lemoine, 75005, Paris

Dates: playing now until 14 July 2025

Tickets: €29.99 adults, €19.99 children (4-15 years old), free for under 4. Buy your tickets here.

4. Discover Andersen’s Fairy Tales Live on Stage at  Théâtre Lucernaire

“Andersen!” is on now at Théâtre Lucernaire and runs until 27 July 2025. The 50-minute play retells The Little Match Girl, The Emperor’s New Clothes, The Snow Queen and The Princess and the Pea while showing moments from Hans Christian Andersen’s own youth. We meet Hans at 14, just arrived in Copenhagen, as his ambition, imagination and reason argue inside his head and act out the tales. The show is recommended for ages 6 and up, and children under two will not be admitted. Seating is unassigned, so plan to arrive about 20 minutes early to choose your spot.

Address: 53 rue Notre-Dame-des-Champs, 75006, Paris

Dates: 2.30pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays, 2pm on Sundays until 27 July 2025

Tickets: €14 single rate for all. Buy your tickets here.

5. Celebrate Fête de la Musique Across Paris on 21 June

fete de la musique-paris in june-the knowledge nuggets

Every 21 June since 1982, Paris has marked the summer solstice with the Fête de la Musique, a city-wide, totally free celebration that lets professionals and amateurs fill streets, squares, museums and parks with every style of music imaginable. The 2025 edition falls on a Saturday, 21 June, so expect sounds from choirs to DJs rolling from late afternoon into the small hours as the whole capital becomes one big open-air stage. Many of the events are family-friendly so check out the events that may be of interest to you.

To plan your evening, the Ministry of Culture maintains an interactive map and timetable of all registered concerts. You can browse the full line-up on the official Fête de la Musique programme page here.

6. Take a Boat Trip in the Bois de Boulogne

Bois de Boulogne boats2-paris in june

Head to Lac Inférieur in the Bois de Boulogne (16th arrondissement) and rent a classic wooden rowboat for a slow cruise under willow branches and past ducks and swans. The lake is large, and it’s a very pleasant ride. Boats leave from the little dock beside the Chalet des Îles; staff hand out oars, cushions and life-jackets (compulsory for children) and point you toward the loop around the main island, an easy hour’s row for beginners. Spring–summer opening hours run most days from midday, and kids will love the midway stop where you can tie up at the chalet’s terrace for an ice cream before heading back to shore.

Each boat has capacity for two adults and two children.

Address: the rental site is near the junction of Route de la Muette-à-Neuilly and Route de Suresnes.

Opening hours: 12pm–6pm Monday to Friday, 10am–6pm Saturdays and Sundays in spring and summer only (times can vary, so please check before your visit).

Tickets: €8 for 30mins, €12 for 1 hour (€50 or your ID card as deposit).

7. Play and Sail at the Jardin du Luxembourg

Luxembourg Gardens_paris with kids in june-the knowledge nuggets

The Jardin du Luxembourg in the 6th arrondissement is a Paris classic that packs a full day of fun in June into one elegant park. I’ve included lots of ideas in this post here on what you can do while visiting Luxembourg Gardens with kids. Start at the Grand Bassin, where children rent bright wooden sailboats and push them across the pond with long sticks while parents lounge in the signature green metal chairs and admire the Palais du Luxembourg. Steps away, the vintage carousel lets riders try to catch metal rings with a lance, and the Théâtre des Marionnettes stages lively Guignol puppet shows whose slapstick humour works even if you don’t speak French.

When energy levels spike, head to the fenced Ludo Jardin playground: zip-lines, a giant sandpit and a mini obstacle course keep kids moving, and the small entry fee stops it from getting overcrowded. Between activities, paths shaded by chestnut trees invite stroller walks, lawns welcome picnics and kiosks sell crepes for an easy treat. For families, this Right-Bank garden offers the perfect mix of play, culture and relaxed Parisian people-watching.

8. Watch Arbre, Cirque Bormann’s Latest Family Circus Show

arbre spectacle-paris with kids

Cirque Bormann’s big striped tent stands next to Parc André-Citroën in the 15ᵉ arrondissement. Inside, the new show Arbre mixes classic circus tricks with modern lights and video. For 90 minutes you see jugglers, acrobats and horse riders move around a glowing “tree of life.” Sparkling chandeliers and colourful projections make the whole space feel magical. The Bormann family has run this circus for eight generations. Arbre tells their story. The tree on stage shows their deep roots and how the circus has grown from old-style acts to today’s high-tech performances.

Seating is comfortable, and children aged 3 and over need their own ticket. Those under three may attend free if they sit on an adult’s lap.

Address: Chapiteau Bormann, 5 rue Lucien Bossoutrot, 75015, Paris

Dates: Running now until 10 August 2025. Performances at 3pm on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and every afternoon during French school holidays.

Tickets: €15-€45 depending on seating category. Buy your tickets here.

9. Go Indoor Skydiving at iFly Paris

ifly paris

Inside the Boom Boom Villette shopping centre next to the Cité des Sciences, iFLY Paris lets anyone aged 5 and up feel a real free-fall without jumping from a plane. After a short briefing, you suit up with helmet, goggles and flight suit, then step into a 14-metre glass wind tunnel where air speeds match those of outdoor skydiving. Two one-minute “flights” are standard for first-timers – just long enough to master stable flying while an instructor hovers nearby.

Parents can watch through the viewing windows, snap photos and cheer as kids float weightless. All gear is included, but wear trainers and comfortable clothes. Sessions run daily, and under-18s need a guardian to sign the waiver. It’s an all-weather thrill that fits easily into a half-day at Parc de la Villette.

Address: Boom Boom Villette, 61 Boulevard Macdonald, 75019, Paris

Tickets: €49.99 for 2 flights, €79.99 for 4 flights. Buy your tickets here.

10. Family Festival at the Jardin d’Acclimatation

jardin acclimatation paris

For a perfect family day out this June in warm weather, head to Paris’s only amusement park, Jardin d’Acclimatation, tucked away in the Bois de Boulogne. Open year-round, the park features over 40 rides and attractions, including carousels, pony rides, a mini-zoo, puppet shows, a splash park, and some of the best playgrounds in the city. There is plenty to keep kids (and parents) happily entertained all day long.

On Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 June 2025, the Fondation Louis Vuitton and the Jardin d’Acclimatation host their 5th Family Festival, a lively weekend packed with creativity. Art workshops, performances, dance, storytelling and sports invite children and parents alike to experiment, discover and simply have fun together.

Address: Bois de Boulogne, Carrefour des Sablons, Paris, 75116

Tickets: 1 Day Pass with unlimited access to the park and attractions: €48 adults and children taller than 80cm. Free for children shorter than 80cm. Buy your tickets here.
